In thinking about ushering in a new fall season, we wanted to highlight some of the fun events and things to coming up here in New Orleans. Fall is a fantastic time to visit as autumn weather brings a nice enjoyable coolness to the air, the colors come alive and the energy in the atmosphere around town is electric.
Celebrate Oktoberfest in NOLA – This fantastic event takes place over three weekends, giving you more than one opportunity to enjoy the festivities. You’ll not only have access to trying over 20 different types of German beer and schnapps, but also the chance to fill up on all kinds of German food such as schnitzel, brats, sauerkraut, pretzels and cheeses. Live music, dancing, food, drink and a ton of fun—don’t miss it!
Go to the Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival – Happening October 12-14, 2-18, this very popular event brings together two great American traditions. Who doesn’t love both blues and BBQ? This is an award-winning event with two stages dedicated to presenting amazing live music, a dozen of the best barbecue vendors in the area, and a massive arts market. Celebrate National Gumbo Day – October 12this National Gumbo Day and a perfect reason to be in New Orleans. We are known for many things here, including food and amazing gumbo is one of them! It’s a dish that celebrates our Cajun heritage and there are a variety of places around town to eat some mouth-watering gumbo.
Attend a Live Music Concert – There is always some kind of musical event happening on most street corners around here and we have no shortage of mainstream artists visiting New Orleans. This fall alone, between October 10th and October 31st the city is hosting concerts by Fall Out Boy, MercyMe, Ron White, Alice in Chains, and Ed Sheeran to name a few. Beignet Fest – Also in the realm of what we are known for, the delicious dessert delicacy of the “beignet” reigns supreme. Beignet Fest is on October 6th when restaurants from around the city will be featuring more than 20 different styles of this this very popular and iconic treat.
