Halloween Happenings: Something for Everyone in NOLA

Second to Mardi Gras for crazy, dress-up fun, Halloween is bringing with it a myriad of events for everyone. Did you know that our city has so much haunted history that it’s known as the “most haunted city in America?” It’s a fitting title for a city that puts on one seriously amazing Halloween party.

Haunted Tours

If exploring that side of things is your cup of tea, you may want to start out with one of the haunted tours being offered around town. There are several NOLA tour companies offering tours including, Bloody Mary’s Tours, French Quarter Phantoms, Ghost City Tours in New Orleans, Ghost Expeditions, Haunted History Tours, and New Orleans Secrets Tours.

Halloween Parties

One of the largest celebrations will be taking place on Frenchmen Street, just ten minutes from our inn. This area is just a stone’s throw from Bourbon Street and the French Quarter and is where you will find some amazing live music coming from the clubs that line the street. There is a host of late night eateries, an authentic art market, and an atmosphere that is just plain fun and lively.

Voodoo Music + Arts Experience

Taking place October 27-29, this amazing and extremely popular festival will be at the Festival Grounds in City Park. There are four performance areas that will be hosting dozens of artists all weekend long. Headliners for 2017 include Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, and The Killers. You’ll also enjoy a wide variety of New Orleans and South Louisiana food and artwork and local crafters.

Krewe of Boo Halloween Parade

All are welcome to come to this lively parade that boasts some incredible floats—many with 3D papier mâché and fiberglass props showing all of Halloween’s spooky creatures. You’ll want to be ready to catch all the goodies that the float riders will toss to the crowd!
